A few weeks ago, our new neighborhood invited us to do the Easter egg hunt they do every year. Mason ran out early and David called him to come back; as a result, Mason was so embarrassed he started crying and missed the whole hunt (because once they blew the whistle it was all over in 45 seconds). Good thing we had real Easter to look forward to, and just chalked this one up to warm-up.
We met a few future neighbors and everyone seems really cool. Can't wait to move!
Here are some pictures I tried to get of the kids after church yesterday--between grumpy Kate and silly Mason, it was pretty tricky to get them to smile at the same time. David loves it when Kate gets her hair curled--he wishes we could do that every Sunday. Kate does NOT love getting her hair touched, though.
Disney on Ice came to KC and we took the kids. I almost cried during the opening number it was so beautiful and musical. Kate was ready to leave halfway though and I took her out for a few minutes...Mason thought it was kind of too loud but once we got popcorn for them ($9 for a sack of popcorn....that's Disney for you, right?) they settled in and watched until the end. Ann was a gem.
Loved General Conference. Elder Oaks especially had an amazing talk about women and authority of the priesthood. I also loved his talk from last conference about religious freedom.
WORLDS OF FUN OPENED. Happiness.
Playdough stories: I made a snowman for Kate, and she named him Olaf and held him like a baby and showed him the sunshine outside and just loved him until he got squished from all the affection. Mason was making pizzas and spreading his dough on the table and at one point it looked like a billowy shirt and he said, "Mom come see. It's Jesus shirt."
Love my baby Ann. Favorite part of the day is when she wakes up. (Specifically her wake-up time of after 6:30 AM. Still not sleeping through the night, but at least she is still nursing so I'm not complaining.) Tried feeding her some oatmeal with spinach and grapes and she thought it was disgusting. Will try again soon.
Went to Omaha last week for a family trip and to say goodbye to some of our old friends who will be graduating and moving this year. Enjoyed the zoo. It really is amazing. I think we saw it was listed somewhere as being the best family zoo in the country for 2014. Maybe I just made that up.
Easter egg hunt yesterday at our friends' house. The kids were happy to find the eggs, David was happy to eat the candy, and I was happy to bathe the childrens when they got home because they LOVED that dirt garden.
Happy Easter! He is Risen!
