Easter, Sunday, Gardening

Usually I try to do something fun every holiday, whether it be decorating, having a special dinner, or some kind of treat . . . this year I totally missed St. Patrick's Day. Didn't even wear green. I almost missed celebrating for Easter, too. We did paint some eggs with some friends on Saturday, but David and I didn't even talk about or plan for Easter egg baskets. At the last minute, during the waking hours of the night when Mason gets up to eat, I hid some baskets--really simple--and on Easter morning we went on an Easter basket hunt. Mason was really excited about his!

Playing with Dad afterward . . .

Wiped out from all the hullaballoo

We did enjoy LDS General Conference, too. Elder Anderson's remarks there at the very end are so true--nobody is given a topic, there is no general theme that everybody is agreed to talk about, instead, all the general authorities prayerfully choose their words, and when it all comes together, you can really see patterns and themes running through the entirety that give us clear direction for the next 6 months.

Mason and I finally returned to church! I was a little worried about how Mason would do, because I was going to go be the primary chorister for 2 hours while Mason and Dad went to Sunday school and priesthood. But Mason slept through the WHOLE THING! Woohoo! Here he is after we got home, still snoozing (we don't have a Sunday outfit yet for him. That will be fun to pick out . . . but aren't the shoes cute?)
BUT it sure did wear out mommy.

This year I am also going to try to do a garden. I'm excited, because I've never done one all on my own before, and I don't really mind if it flops. I'm just learning. David and I have a wide gamut of things to try: corn, peas, pumpkins, and even watermelon! Here are my tomato and pepper starts:

We'll see how it all does.
