August

Life with five kids is wonderful, and sometimes a little crazy.  However way you look at it, when there is a new baby in the home, there is a special spirit of love and excitement.

Grant has started sucking his thumb--he is just darling to me.

Mason made a few bucks by selling some meringue cookies!  We started doing allowance over the summer and it has been awesome.  The kids are learning how to work to earn money, how to save, how to pool together money to buy something fun, and Mason is starting to pay tithing.

The girls in their new school dresses, all ready for Sunday Family Study.

David got this idea to build a doghouse with Kate from scratch.  What a doozie [i.e. huge mess in the garage, big expense/time investment, still half done]

We had a huge storm come through our neighborhood and it just tore this tree in half.  I was so sad.

David and Kate were supposed to go to UT for AJ's baptism, but their flight got delayed so much they missed the baptism and just cancelled their trip.  Kate was really bummed.

Last-minute fun summer plans--playground with Kenna, Worlds/Oceans of Fun, Science City

School started--Mason is in 4th (Mrs Jacobs) Kate is in 2nd (Ms Bacon) Annie is in Kindergarten (Mrs Mattson)!  We got ice cream after the first day of school.  Annie has had a bit of an adjustment going to kindergarten, and I've let her stay home once or twice.  Julie has had a hard time with Annie gone all day, so we try to let her play with neighborhood friends a lot.

David and I have had fun with Julie and Grant while the other kids are at school.  We've gone to the zoo and IKEA.

Mason had a scout pack and they had caterpillar races and Julie and Annie tried it, too!
