Annie and Julie had their Girls on the Run 5k! Mason ran with Annie and she got a sub-30 minute time, and I went with Julie. They did great and it was beautiful weather. We enjoyed riding the neighborhood party bus there and back.

 

 

Annie and Julie also had their Take a Peek at PEAK at school, and we enjoyed seeing their projects.

 

David went to Julie's field trip to the Nelson-Atkins Art Museum, where she made a Tiger/Lizard.

 

My parents came to visit at the beginning of the month! They got to see a lot of great kid's events, including Annie's orchestra concert, Mason's art show, and lots of sports games on Saturday.

 

 

Happy Mother's Day! We went to my friend Aarti's place for breakfast, and David and the kids had a nice breakfast in bed for me, and a scavenger hunt with prizes from Bath and Body Works.

 

Kate is enjoying volleyball with the rec league, and had amazing choir and band concerts for the end of the year. 

 

David and I finished up coaching Julie and Grant's soccer teams.

 

 

I had a JRCLS get together at my house, and Grant and Julie got their hair cut. Mason also got his done, and I also cut mine this past month.

 

We got a new car! KIA Carnival. We said goodbye to our old van, including the unforgettable (cringy, to Kate) bumper stickers.

 

I got to go to Annie's field trip to Union Station, and Liberty Oaks had field day! Julie was sick and was so sad to miss out but we still went over and watched for a bit.

 

 

Annie's 5th grade class made food trucks, and she had a great year in Peak. We celebrated her finishing Liberty Oaks at the 5th grade graduation!

 

Happy Memorial Day! We love going to the Liberty Cemetery to visit gravesites (including Alexander Doniphan and the African American Legacy Memorial). On Mondays, we like taking scooters and bikes to ride along the riverfront, catching the light rail to Union Station, and seeing the display for fallen warriors. We also visited a Korean memorial this year (couldn't convince the kids to hike around the WWI Museum, even though the weather was beautiful, although it was probably for the best because we barely made it back to the car before it started pouring). So grateful for our country and the people who have died for the vision.

 

 

 

 

 

 

We finished our school year! We had Annie's 5th grade walk, and had a neighborhood block party afterwards. 

 

David and Mason left for a YM camping trip to Nauvoo, and the rest of us got a good start to our summer roller skating, trampolining, and going to Worlds of Fun.
