Happy Halloween!

So we officially lost our camera. I am so sad because it had a lot of pictures on there from our last trip to Utah and our trip to Philadelphia that I never got on to my computer before it was lost.

But here's some pictures from Halloween! Mason was a lion, I was a witch, and we tried getting David a tin-man costume last minute, but this is as good as it got. We had a lot of fun at our ward Trunk-or-Treat, the dental school parade, and trick or treating in our neighborhood here. Mason really got into the trick-or-treating once he figured out the basic concept, and always went for the suckers and fruit snacks!

Funny story,

I was talking to a little girl, about 3, at my church and she asked about my belly. I said,
"There's a baby girl in there!"
"Oh . . . what is she doing in there?"
"She's just . . . swimming around!"
"Oh . . . there's water in there?"
"Yep."
" . . . Is she wearing a swim suit?"

Ha ha ha ha ha I can't WAIT until Mason starts talking--kids say the funniest things :)

I wish I could put up some pictures but I lost my camera :( but I'll keep looking for it and get a better update soon :)

If you've played this addictive game already, you can probably tell what Mason and David are playing just from the sound,

Big News, Edgar--

We spent the last four weeks visiting family in Utah and Idaho during school break. We loved it!
It was SO great to spend time with old friends. Look at these cuties! Four kiddo teeter totter. We went to St. George with David's old roommates and hiked the narrows--we got a group shot but mine was a video so I need pictures everyone! The water was a lot higher and colder than I remember when we did it two years ago.Eating one of many banana creamsicles with Grandma. They felt really good on his teeth since he had around 3 or 4 teeth (including one molar) come in during the four weeks.Going boating on the Snake RiverHelping Grandpa make homemade vanilla ice cream.
Giving Mason a break to play with the fountains outside the Deseret Book store while we were visiting downtown SLC & temple square.
Utah's state capital building from the top of the LDS church headquarters

Getting haircuts outside while also swimming.

Some favorite things of mine that I just couldn't get enough of while we were there:
Leatherby's Ice Cream parlor. I haven't gone for years for one reason or another, and it was everything I've been dreaming of. Angie's Almond Joy (or Isaiah's Almond Joy) is a delight.
Along the same lines . . . BYU's Creamery Ice cream. Love it.
And while we were at BYU, we just HAD to get a J-Dawg. MMMmmMMMmm!
Cafe Rio. I so wish they could put one in Omaha . . . I've tried Chipotle and it's just not the same . . .
And just seeing family and friends. I got to see quite a few of my cousins and extended family, friends from high school, new babies, etc. We love you all and miss you! We were excited to come back to Omaha though to our little home and see all our friends and neighbors here.

And our big news is . . . . we're pregnant with a new little munchkin and we found out today she's a GIRL! She will arrive around December 16th and we can't wait to see her :)

Life of late

David had his birthday on Monday, June 27. We ate french toast for breakfast (his favorite), then that day Mason and I went shopping for some good presents :) We celebrated with all our friends that evening with a chocolate cake and rootbeer floats. To top off the night, we had a Transformers pinata that was a favorite with all the kids. Our camera was out of commission so we need to steal some from our friends.
Eating noodles. You can't see very well in this picture, but Mason got about 4 or 5 mosquito bites around his eyes, where we didn't plaster the bug spray, and his eyes got all swollen and purple. The mosquitos were very bad this summer.
Michelle, David's sister, came out to visit Omaha! We loved having her and it was SOOO fun to see family. Here are some pictures of fun things we did. We also showed her the pedestrian bridge, the Union Pacific museum, Winter Quarters temple and visitors center, and the botanical gardens down the street. And the ConAgra park with fountains. We also all love movies, and we saw three good ones: Company Men (it's really good if you have language filters), The King's Speech (same--it's a fabulous movie but is rated R for a few scenes of language), and The Next Three Days (I think this one had a language problem too. Thank goodness for Clearplay :).
going swimming
going to the zoo
Happy Fourth of July! We had a big patriotic breakfast with waffles, berries and cream with some friends and then had a barbeque with our RDEP class that evening. Mason was afraid of the loud fireworks and went to bed rather early for the holiday.

It'll grow back . . .

This is what I would tell myself when I would lose the guts to chop my hair. I've been wanting to cut it short for quite a while, and I finally followed through with it last night! Here's before and after pictures:

I'm actually liking this new 'do so much that I don't know if I can ever go back to long hair! It's a fun change.
